I. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION:

A. Course Description: This class is designed to cover all the laws pertaining to Florida Statue 790.06 and the completion of this course will allow the student to successfully apply for the Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. Unlike the “Beginners Shooting Course” this course only covers laws and statues. Students will fire live rounds on a static range at the completion of this course to satisfy state requirements.

NOTE: Companies offering laser gun/SIM Gun or shooting at a target at 2 feet for range qualification DO NOT meet Florida standards and are illegal

B. Course Goals/Objectives: The goals/objectives of this course are:

1. Designed to provide all necessary laws to safely and effectively carry a firearm in Florida
   
   
2. Provides all details and steps for filling out the necessary paperwork to include photos and fingerprints
   
   
3. Undestanding of shoot no shoot senarios

C. Course Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course, each student will have demonstrated through a competent understanding

1. The general laws regarding carrying a firearm in Florida;
   
   
2. The safety rules needed to perform when handling a firearm;
   
   
3. Specific shooting techniques in marksmanship; i.e range qualification
   
   
4. Safe care and handling of firearms.

D. Completion: The completion of this course satisfies the requirements for the Florida Concealed Weapons Permit.

E. Special Requirements:Safety Policy. Students should adhere to safety standards established in the beginning of this course. Students must follow all safety rules on the firing range and other laboratory work areas.
