BEGINNERS SHOOTING COURSE WITH CONCEAL CARRY (6 Hours)<\/div>
I. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION:<\/strong>

A. Course Description:<\/strong> The student will identify basic firearm safety, care and cleaning techniques; and demonstrate proper shooting principles and proficiency with a handgun. Students will understand general laws regarding firearms.

B. Course Goals\/Objectives:<\/strong> The goals\/objectives of this course are:
  1. Designed to help the student develop a respect for firearms safety, shooting techniques and general laws regarding firearms.<\/li>
  2. Student will be provided with the understanding of the responsibility of being a competent owner of a firearm.<\/li>
  3. Provide the student with the knowledge of care and cleaning of firearms.<\/li>
  4. Emphasis will be placed on target shooting.<\/li>
  5. Emphasis will be placed on proficiency with a shotgun<\/li><\/ol>C. Course Competencies:<\/strong> Upon successful completion of this course, each student will have demonstrated through a competent understanding
    1. The safety rules needed to perform when handling a firearm;<\/li>
    2. The general laws regarding firearms in Florida;<\/li>
    3. Specific shooting techniques in marksmanship;<\/li>
    4. Safe care and handling of firearms.<\/li><\/ol>D.<\/strong> Completion of this course satisfies the requirements for the Florida Concealed Weapons Permit.

      E. Special Requirements<\/strong>-Safety Policy. Students should adhere to safety standards established in the beginning of this course. Students must follow all safety rules on the firing range and other laboratory work areas.

      II.
